His Excellency Abdulaziz bin Hassan Al-Boug

His Excellency Mr. Abdulaziz bin Hassan Al-Boug holds the position of Chairman of the Board of the Insurance Authority since its establishment in October 2023. With over 26 years of experience in the insurance sector, Al-Boug leads the authority with an ambitious strategy that enhances financial stability. This strategy aims to bring about a developmental shift and build a more effective sector by contributing to the stability of the financial sector, developing and enhancing the insurance sector, and raising awareness of insurance while protecting the rights of policyholders. In addition to his role as Chairman of the Insurance Authority, he holds several positions and memberships on various boards. He is the Governor of the General Organization for Social Insurance—since his royal appointment in April 2023—and a member of its board. He also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mudad Company and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Masdar Company, in addition to chairing the Executive Committee at the Insurance Authority. He is also a member of several committees, including the Financial Sector Development Program Committee, the National Financial Stability Committee, the Housing Program Committee, and the International Social Security Association (ISSA), among many other committees. Before assuming the chairmanship of the Insurance Authority, he served as the CEO of Tawuniya Insurance Company, one of the leading firms in the insurance sector. His Excellency holds an Executive Master's degree in Business Administration from Hull University in the UK, as well as a Bachelor's degree in International Business from King Abdulaziz University. He also holds the American certification in health insurance and several advanced international certificates in management and strategy.
