Enhancing National Competencies and Transferring Global Expertise Insurance Authority Hosts Lloyd’s Academy Camp in Riyadh

The Insurance Authority hosted the Lloyd’s Training Camp in Riyadh today, Monday, October 13, 2025, with the attendance of H.E. Mr. Abdulaziz bin Hassan Al-Bouq, Chairman of the Insurance Authority; H.E. Mr. Stephen Hitchin, British Ambassador to the Kingdom; Eng. Naji Al-Faisal Al-Tamimi, CEO of the Insurance Authority; along with CEOs of insurance companies and a high-level delegation from Lloyd’s Academy.


The training camp was organized in partnership with Lloyd’s Academy, with the participation of more than 95 specialists from insurance companies. The program featured a series of specialized sessions covering the roles of underwriting and brokerage, methods of claims management and litigation, and in-depth exploration of specialized areas such as marine, energy, casualty, and construction insurance. It also included a comprehensive overview of the Lloyd’s global insurance market and its structure and operations, one of the world’s most established and historic insurance markets with a legacy spanning over 300 years. The camp further provided a platform for direct engagement with international experts and for exchanging global practical experiences.


Eng. Naji Al-Faisal Al-Tamimi, CEO of the Insurance Authority, stated that the Lloyd’s Training Camp comes as part of the initiatives sponsored by the Authority to enhance the professional standards of national competencies, connect them with global expertise, and prepare them to effectively navigate the rapidly evolving insurance market. He noted the rise in Saudization within the Saudi insurance sector, which has reached 85% of the total workforce in 2024.


The CEO also added that the Authority remains committed to empowering the insurance sector through the development and qualification of its human capital, in alignment with its strategic direction to elevate professional practices and human capabilities. These efforts contribute to sustainable growth and strengthen the insurance industry’s role in economic and social development, in harmony with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and with the support and attention of the wise leadership.
