The Insurance Authority participates in the Global Health Exhibition, which opened today at Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Center (Malham) and will run starting today until October the 30th. The event features over 1,200 global and local companies and healthcare sector brands from more than 70 countries, along with 500 experts and speakers, to discuss the latest developments in the healthcare sector, promote innovation, enhance services, and support integration between health insurance and healthcare providers in Saudi Arabia.
Commenting on the participation, the Authority’s official spokesperson, Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qahtani, stated that the Authority’s involvement in this global exhibition aims to highlight its active role in regulating the insurance sector and strengthening governance over the rights of all parties involved. It also seeks to raise awareness among visitors about their insurance rights, particularly regarding medical malpractice and health insurance policies. Additionally, the Authority’s activities at the exhibition will focus on promoting insurance awareness and emphasizing the importance of insurance in supporting the health and professional lives of all healthcare groups and beneficiaries, contributing to improved quality of life in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
Health insurance represents the largest market share in the Saudi insurance sector at 55.5%, with gross written premiums increasing from SAR 38.6 billion in 2023 to SAR 42.2 billion in 2024, reflecting a 9.4% growth rate. The number of companies operating in the health insurance sector in the Kingdom currently stands at 23.
The Global Health Exhibition is recognized as the largest annual healthcare event in Saudi Arabia, bringing together health sector leaders, experts, and innovators from around the world to discuss advancements in healthcare, showcase the latest medical technologies and solutions, enhance collaboration, exchange knowledge, and provide a platform for business and investment opportunities in this rapidly growing sector.
